We envision a future where women who may not be able to step outside their homes can use their skills through home-based work and hand craftsmanship , allowing them to earn while managing their responsibilities.

AAKAR did not begin with just the idea of creating a fashion brand. It began with a thought.

The Story Behind AAKAR

Through life experiences and the women I have seen around me, I began to notice how many women have dreams of becoming independent but don’t always have the circumstances or opportunities to pursue them.

Women who are widows. Single mothers. Women with responsibilities at home. Women who want to work, earn and build something of their own, but cannot always leave their homes.

That thought became the inspiration behind AAKAR.

Why The Name AAKAR?

Aakar means form — to give shape to something.

And that is exactly what we want AAKAR to represent: giving shape to dreams.

When someone chooses an AAKAR garment, they are not simply choosing a piece of clothing. They are becoming a part of a bigger journey — one that aims to create opportunities for women to move towards financial independence.

Aap AAKAR pehnte hain, toh sirf ek kapda nahi pehnte — aap kisi ke sapne ko AAKAR dete hain.

That thought is at the heart of everything we want AAKAR to become.

Our dream is to create meaningful home-based opportunities through handwork and other skills, so that women who cannot work outside their homes can still have a way to earn and build their own identity.

Meet The Founder

RITU SINGH

Founder & Fashion Designer, AAKAR

AAKAR was founded by Ritu Singh, a fashion designer with a formal education in fashion and several years of experience in the fashion industry.

Ritu graduated from Banasthali University, Rajasthan , and always carried the dream of building something of her own.

For her, fashion has never been only about clothing. It is about expression, confidence, craftsmanship and the feeling a woman carries when she wears something made thoughtfully for her.

Her experiences in the fashion industry, together with the women and stories she encountered around her, gradually shaped the idea behind AAKAR.

She wanted to create a fashion brand that could combine her passion for design with a purpose close to her heart — creating opportunities for women who want to become independent and build a better future for themselves.

Today, Ritu is building AAKAR with a long-term vision: a brand known not only for its design, quality and fit, but also for the opportunities it can create.

For her, AAKAR is not simply a business.

It is a dream she wants to give AAKAR to.
